Man Finds Freezing Cold Puppies Inside Abandoned Box

A man was passing walking through his neighborhood when he spotted an open box he hadn't seen before. When he walked over and peeked inside, he discovered two tiny puppies. According to The Dodo, the poor puppies were unconscious and basically frozen from the freezing cold.
The man rushed the puppies to KC Pet Project, a Kansas City Animal Rescue, in the hopes that they could miraculously be saved. "They were in very bad shape when they came to us," Tori Fugate, Director of Marketing and Communications at KC Pet Project, told The Dodo. "They were dehydrated and their little bodies were freezing. Our staff worked for hours on them, giving them fluids and holding them for warmth."
Miraculously, the 3-week-old puppies seemed to be making improvements. Still, staff members were worried they would not make it through the night so one of the staff members took the pups home for the night. In the morning, the puppies were doing remarkably better much to the pleasant surprise of everyone at the rescue.
"They were able to eat and they were back to a normal state. We gave them gruel in the afternoon and they were starving – so much so that they almost took a bath in it. We were thrilled!"
Though no one knows what cruel person dumped the helpless puppies in the freezing and extreme cold, the puppies' rescuers are elated that the puppies managed to survive against all odds.
Currently, the sweet pups are in a foster home. They'll stay in the foster home until they're 8 weeks old and then they'll be ready to get a new chance at a forever home.
The rescue has already had lots of people interested in adopting the pups, including the man who initially found them in the abandoned box and took them to the shelter.
